spring arrives, and the boys
break out the bats and gloves and
prepare to compete for particular
team positions. Many boys turn out
for early practices, which is one
reason Delhaas always has a team
of championship potential. Much
more than fielding and batting prac
tice go into developing a superior
baseball team. Hours of indoor in
struction and demonstration are
involved. This year we look forward
to another successful season on the
diamond.
"Foul tip, strike one!" The ball is lost, but this team member eagerly waits for his next
chance to get a hit. In true Delhaas tradition, the game will be played with skill and
enthusiasm until the last man has been retired.
"It’s a swing and a hit!” Another base hit and another earned run. A team’s success rests upon the
boys' ability to hit consistently. Practice and teamwork have always been a winning combination
for our baseball team.
