This year our colorguard, majorettes, and cheerleaders entered area competition and received
several first and second place awards. Admiring the awards are, from left to right: Gertie
Austin, Mrs. Hughes, cheerleading advisor; Miss Mattern, majorette and colorguard advisor;
Lorraine Sooby, Nancy Nichols.
The Delhaas Colorguard accompanies the marching band and performs at all athletic events.
In addition, these girls are often asked to appear at assemblies and other social activities. We
see them here standing at attention at the conclusion of one of their precision drills.
