“I didn’t realize what I was getting into when I started the

Reserve Officer Training Corps. The program has taught

me discipline and leadership skills I didn’t know I was ca­

pable of.” H “My goal is to be a One-Star Brigadier Gen­

eral within 25 years, a Three-Star Major General within

35 years, and then a part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.”

m “My father was in the Air Force and suggested join­

ing ROTC. I thought it would be like boot camp, marching

and taking orders all the time. Although it is kind of like

that, they train us to become effective leaders.” | “I want

to be an officer in the Navy, and ROTC or the Academy are

the only ways to accomplish that. I would like to go and

fight in Iraq.” “I joined ROTC because it is what I felt

God was leading me to do. Everyday I think about drop­

ping out and enlisting to serve in Iraq, but the thing that

keeps me here is knowing that God wants me here.”
