r OURSE WORK. It is som ething w ith
^ which upper-classmen are well acquainted and
something freshmen find themselves staring in the face. It
is something professors hand out liberally, and something
students wish they could stamp “Return to Sender.” Of
course, students expect homework-after all, they come to
college to learn. Yet, students may easily become distracted
from studying by the multiple activities in which they can
become involved. They may find themselves overwhelmed
with the stack of books and assignments piled before them,
wishing they could miraculously transform it into a plate
piled high with Papa John’s pizza.
For those finding themselves facing a seemingly im
possible load, II Timothy 4:7 offers an approach to course
work. It states, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished
my course, I have kept the faith.” The Lord knows the dili
gence students put into their studies. All He asks them to
do is maintain their focus, finish “the course,” and “C the
