SOCCER
Determination and hard work
characterized this year’s soccer
team. Through the many trying
times of a winless season, each
player still kept his Christian
testimony foremost. An example of
the excitement experienced at the
games was seen when five goals were
scored in fifteen minutes of play
against St. Petersburg Junior
College. Impressive new uniforms
lifted spirits while Captain Rob
Starner and Coach Mr. Robert
Carver encouraged the team to do
their very best. Mr. Carver
emphasized throughout the season
the fact that more valuable lessons
can be learned through losing than
through winning. Under his
leadership the players learned much
about the real effort that it takes to
be successful in any endeavor. We
know that the season’s scores don’t
tell the real story: it was one of the
best soccer seasons we have ever
had!
