efforts — a basketball game!
For two years our gym has stood incompleted
because of lack of funds. The floor not being yet
laid and hoops not being put up, gyms in the city
had to be rented for our games. However, because
of the pledge system developed by Mr. Olson the
needed finances, approximately $40,000, were
raised through individual gifts and donations
taken at the Founder’s Banquets; thus, the floor
was begun in August of 1978. The best materials
were used to lay the 100X 120 foot floor to finish
one of the biggest gyms in the area. Courts for
basketball, volleyball, and tennis were marked on
the floor, and the school crest was placed in the
center, finally completing a beautiful gymnasium
that has earned a city-wide reputation.
