legend of Alexander Charles
Ammerman is one which has resounded the
halls of Covington Catholic since he first came
to Covington Catholic as a freshman. Standing
at an impressive 6' 5" with a vertical of three
inches and a solid fur coat covering the whole
of his being, Alex is known to the majority of
the school as Ammo.
His influence on this school has been vast.
Ammo has continually been involved in the
Student Senate and was the campaign
manager for his brother Will’s successful bid
for the presidency during their junior year.
During football and basketball season, Alex
was always front and center, leading the
cheers, even at the final football game at
Johnson Central. He has been a major part of
bringing back the original “Colonel Crazy”
school spirit which has been somewhat lacking
the past few years.
He has also been an important part of the
r yearbook you hold in your hands. Ammo
took journalism as an elective during his
junior year, and liked the class so much that he
took it again as a senior. He volunteered his
time as the business manager for the
journalism class. He is an essential part of this
year’s journalism team and he will be sorely
missed next year. And remember: despite the
consistent cheer to the contrary, everybody
loves Ammo!
