The Tennis Colonels opened the
                                                                              season with a touqh scrimmage against
                                                                              LaSalle.  They  performed quite well and
                                                                              that set the tone for the rest of the
                                                                              season.
                                                                               They moved on to sweep such teams
                                                                              as Boone Countyr Simon Kentonr Scott,
                                                                              Villa Madona, Calvary Christian, Ryle,
                                                                              and Dixie.  This success was not without
                                                                              some admirable foes.  Of course, St.X,
                                                                              Lone Oak, Henry Clay, and Elder gave
                                                                              the Colonels a run for their money but
                                                                              they fought hard through it all and
                                                                              played respectfully.
                                                                               In the exciting season there were
                                                                              beautiful  performances by such players
                                                                              as Jimmy Roebker, Stephen Schafer,
                                                                              Jacob Litmer, Mickey Sutton, John Faqel,
                                           k\  »i>i !                         and more.  The Colonels were able to
                                           luv                                sweep Conference and move on to
                                                                              Region and State.
                                                     IB                        Not to mention the other excitement of
                                           r a m ]                            star Colonels, Jimmy Roebker, signing
                                                                              with Xavier University to play tennis at
                                                                              the Division I level and Mickey Sutton
                                                                              signing with Siena College for four years
                                                                              of division III  play.
                                                                               All in all, the Tennis Colonels had a
                                                                              tremendous season.  With the team
                                                                              taking State Runners-Up and Jimmy
                                                                              Roebker a two-year tennis state
                                                                              champion, they  proved themselves once
                                                                              again top dogs in their sport.
