tith e earlier years of Coach DamTiemanfs tenure, one of his many positions held at
C ovingtouC atholi io High School was the Director of Intramurals. These intramural
activities included basketball, volleyball, soccer, and softball. Since his wife worked
mghts at tins time, and his children, Chris and Laura, were too voting to be left alone,
Coach T had to b ring' his two kids to Intramurals,
As Coach T put it, he cart remember being ‘called omthe carpet" by the
adm irustratioiioiLthree separate occasions. -Vs you may have guessed, all of these
instances were results of his sometimes mischievous childremgetting into trouble.
Coach T is nothing' short of a legend at C ovingtottC athoIic and these are just a few
of Ins mam' stories that come to mind whemhe recalls some of his past years at CCH.
ftentim es Coach Tw ould be refereeing or helping' the
intramural players, so Chris and Laura would find wavs to entertain
themselves. One evening, Chris discovered a paint roller that just
happened to still have wet yellow paint om it. Hie next day, Coach
T was called into the office and had to explaim thc mysterious
yellow stripe painted onthe walls of the cafeteria.

Coach Tand he agaimwas called to the office to have a
disaissicnwith the admnnstratioii Tins time the problem was not
paint: it was a f looded faculty bathroom. A s it turned out, Chris
and Laura had wandered into the faculty restroom, stuffed every
paper towel into the toilet and flushed it until the faculty room
became flooded.
I hen childrenreach that age of around 5 or 6, one of the
f irst things they learm to do is write their name. Once this skill is
mastered, they seem to have a strong desire to write their name o n
anything and everything. So w hen the A rt Director was unhappy
one morning at school, C oach T was not terribly surprised whemhe
found out that every art piece in the display had the name "Laura"
printed o n it.
