                                                                                               The  Naval  Junior  Reserve  Officer's
                                                                                               Training  Corps  Unit  is  primarily  a  Ser­
                                                                                               vice  Organization,  dedicated  to  helping
                                                                                               others.  Cadets  serve  the  school  by  pro­
                                                                                               viding  traffic  control,  assisting  as  es­
                                                                                               corts,  and  helping  out  in  other  school
                                                                                               activities.  They  are  usually  on  duty  at
                                                                                               Ram  athletic  games.  Open  House,  Par­
                                                                                               ent-Teacher Organization functions, and
                                                                                               the daily Color Ceremony at school. The
                                                                                               Drill Team and the Color Guard are  fre­
                                                                                               quently  requested  to  participate  in  pa­
                                                                                               rades  and  community  events.  Monthly
                                                                                               NJROTC  Assembly  programs  provide
                                                                                               an  opportunity  for  informal  personnel
                                                                                               inspections.  The  Annual  Military  In­
                                                                                               spection  is  an occasion at which  the  Ca­
                                                                                               det Company is observed by the Region­
                                                                                               al  Navy  Youth  Programs  Officer  repre­
                                                                                               senting  the  Chief  of  Naval  Education
                                                                                               and  Training.  Several  fund  drives  are
                                                                                               conducted  each  year  to  finance  the  An­
                                                                                               nual  Military  Ball,  a  formal  occasion  at­
                                                                                               tended by Cadets with  their escorts  plus
                                                                                              local Naval, School, and Community Of­
                                                                                              ficials. For the  past several years. Cadets
                                                                                              have  participated  in  an  annual  week-
                                                                                              long  field  trip.  This  year  they  had  the
                                                                                              opportunity  to  observe,  at  first  hand.
                                                                                              Armed  Services  facilities  in  Newport,
                                                                                              Rhode  Island.  Two  representatives  par­
                                                                                              ticipated  in  a  cruise  on  the  USS  Lexing­
                                                                                              ton  of  Penescola,  Florida.  The  accom­
