X will not hesitate to say we have a few superstars on our team; no
seven-foot amazons or brick walls for blockers, but we have what it
takes to triumph—we have heart. A pride in ourselves and the team
drives each and every one of us to give nothing less than our personal
best. Volleyball is a game o f faith; each player must trust the other to
make a good pass or set so that an explosive attack can result. Trust is
the sole force holding a team together and carrying it to the top. One of
the chief reasons we are such a strong powerhouse is that we play every’
game as a team, and we understand that each and every player has a
certain asset to contribute to our success. On and off the court, we
respect, help, and encourage each other, which further stimulates our
undeniable comraderie. Whether it is Alison's rather unique ace cheers,
D ianna’s characteristic grunt, D anielle’s “steady ” ball control, or
Caryn's practical jokes, it is the combination of all the gifts each o f us
have to offer that makes the Panthers the winning team that they are this
year. There is more, much more, underlying the spiff}' uniforms, pretty
girls in spandex, and 28-8 record that goes into making this team so
remarkable: a common goal to give it our best shot. We play each game as though we have nothing to lose, and fight
our hardest to show we have what it takes to be champions. All too soon our days of glory will come to a close, but until
then, the thrill o f the game, the bond of the team, and the rewards of the experience fill the Panthers with the will to win
and the exhilaration to fight till the end.
