Piecing it All Together
Holy Child Rye is part of a global network of Holy Child
schools, linked by our com m on founder, Cornelia Connelly,
and the Society of the Holy Child Jesus. It is this worldwide
connection that provides an international awareness which we
as the Holy Child community possess. Throughout our years
here, whether they be one, two or eight, we have witnessed
the world change in drastic ways. The effect of these m om en
tous changes is part of what makes us a piece of the world’s
greater puzzle. From September 11, 2001, to SARS outbreaks
and blackouts, to the war on Iraq and
Freedom Fries, to more local events:
Holy Child becoming a laptop
school during summer 2000,
Groundbreaking in spring 2003,
each year’s class trips, prom, DMB
concerts, road tests, and graduation,
as well as all the plans for the future
which will be left behind at the
culmination of this year. We’ve had
visitors from Holy Child schools in
Maryland and Ireland; we’ve had
people com e and people go. No
matter what, one thing remains: Holy ____________
Child’s effect on us is profound. Our
oudooks on life are shaped by our
experience at our school, and so, we
will take the lessons taught by Holy
Child and the support of our close-
knit community with us as we go
out into the larger world, whether
we end up as nearby as New York
City or as far away as Australia. By
instructing us how to think globally, Holy Child has taught us to act with broad intentions and wide ambi
tions. We will place our individual pieces into the layout of the world’s puzzle; and we guarantee, Holy
Child’s piece will be a big one.
