PALs was a group of
Peer Assistant Learners students who trained to
m entor others who struggled
academically, socially, and
emotionally. They were the
first people new students
saw when they came to
Holland High as they
provided the new-student
tours. PALs helped people
feel welcome with a sense of
belonging.

a PAL. You just have to be an
ordinary person with a
desire to help others.

Students for Social Justice
S4SJ is a group of
com m itted high
school students who
met weekly to
advocate positive
change. Their
mission was to
educate others, raise
awareness, and
peacefully act to rid
the school and
com m unity of social
inequities.
