By God's design! "My first influence in math was from my Dad, who
majored in math for one year. My next greatest influence
was my high school teacher, Mrs. Glenn. She encouraged
me to pursue something that I would use my math skills
in. I hope to someday to be able to teach. I constantly
hear kids talk about how much they hate math, but I am
convinced that if students today had teachers that could
make it interesting and applicable to them, math would
not have such a stigma. I really enjoyed Differential Equa
tions. It was very interesting to see how such complex
equations represent things that we run into in everyday
life, often on a microscopic level."

"My desire isto help people better their lives, especially those who are
effected with physical conditions. My favorite class was Conditioning and
Fitness. It was fun setting up a exercise plan and then seeing the results
from your work demonstrated through someone's life. Outside of learning
in Mr. Mullholland's classes, I learned from his life. He taught me persever
ance. When I wanted to change majors or give up or somehow get out of
taking chemistry (which he 'made' me take my senior year) he pushed me
on and encouraged me."

"I feel that God has led me into psychology, and it is
something that I enjoy. After graduation, Lord willing, I
am going to graduate school and getting my Masters in
school guidance & counseling. Dr. DeWitt has influenced
me the most." As a class project, she had her students do a
candling experiment in which the small end of a cone-like
candle was put in the ear and lit. The smoke warmed the
ear wax and created a gentle vacuum. It dislodged wax or
foreign debris and pulled it into the candle.
