The Rom's 1978 soccer squod suffered on
extremely disoppointing seoson, winning only
1 motch. The lost-ploce Lower Ducks County
Leogue finish wos the worst ronking in over o
decode. A poor turn-out of ployers plogued
the 9th grode ond JV levels, os well os vorsi-
ty. Combined with injuries, this left us ot o
severe disodvontoge. Despite the poor
record, the squod wos in most gomes right
up until the finol whistle. We were tied with
powerful Neshominy-Longhorne ond Penns-
bury until the lost minutes. Co-Coptoin Tom
Ennis wos selected to the All-Lower Ducks 1st
teom ot midfield. He olso received votes for
best goolkeeper; this is the first time thot
onyone in the leogue hos received votes ot 2
positions. All-Leogue Honoroble Mention wos
received by Mork Popineou, John Cosole, Dill
Smith, ond Mork Dromble. All ployers should
be commended for trying their best, Dest
wishes to those ployers returning for next
seoson.
