Spectrum
It contains writings from kindergar
ten to grade 12. It has photography and
art work from many high school students
and it’s full of everything from poems to
full length stories. What is it? Spectrum,
of course!
Spectrum is Ralston School District’s
first literary magazine. The 24-page
magazine is published by the Ralston
High newspaper staff and is put out
annually.
The first issue of Spectrum appeared
in 1983. It was an idea from Dr. Marlin
Nelson, assistant superintendent in
charge of curriculum. Nelson initiated
plans for the magazine because he
wanted students to leave Ralston
knowing how to write.
This year, the newspaper staff
