/ rashman Kent Bruner works on sets Although there is no curtain to
during his free time. draw back, take a look behiral the
scenes and you will see dozens of
ordinary people at work doing various?
kinds of jobs. When the lights go up we
know there is someone in control of
the lightboard. Even before the show
begins dozens of people are busy at
work in pre-production flight. There is
makeup, hair and costumes to be
done, people to usher to seats, actors
to get into character, props to set
and generally a theater to prepare.
The initial building of sets is done
for the most part by Mike Daniels' and
Jack Parkhurst's 1st and 2nd hour
theater backstge classes.
Said junior Debbie White, "I like
the class, because it is a practical
learning experience; I've learned to
use a lot of tools I ordinarily wouldn't
have learned how to use.''
For all the costumes pinned, all the
lights set there is of course the small
print in every program that lists all the
people who put in dozens of hours
behind the scenes hoping to form the
plays into a “prize act".
Seniors Carrie Palmeiro and Chuck
Couch cut some plywood to build a
set.
