key to college success is maintaining an organized
schedule. Whether one is designing a courseload to
avoid conflicts or setting aside time each day to study,
an organized plan of attack is imperative.
Ask any senior who has had problems with their
coursework because of conflicts and one will
appreciate the foresight of proper planning. Avoiding
the temptation of socializing when one should be
studying is made easier with a wisely planned
schedule allowing plenty of time for everything.
Staying ahead helps in all areas of student life.
Participation in extracurricular activities is always
more enjoyable if done without the stress of projects
hanging over one's head. Having a paper completed
early and being ready for an exam can make a
volleyball game at the beach or a class social that
much more relaxing and fun.
Attending class can be fun — it does not have to be as
miserable as some claim. Enthusiasm and creativity can
make even the most serious subject more enjoyable for
the student and the instructor. Some professors have
taken advantage of Florida's beautiful weather and held
classes outdoors or made a class trip to Philippe Park.
Others have had guest lecturers take charge of a class to
break up the routine.

Keeping organized and creative while wisely redeeming
the time can make all the difference in the college
experience — just ask a senior!
