                                                                                            he year in sports might be best described as one of




                                                                                            rebuilding.  Many teams which had extremely




                                                                                            successful seasons the previous year lost much of




                                                                                            their talent upon graduation.  This year, however,




                                                                                            can in no way be regarded as a disappointment.




                                                                                            Enrollment was up again and with all the new



                                                                                            students came a lot of skilled athletes.  We were




                                                                                            also able to be reclassified as a Division II school




                                                                                            allowing us to be more competitive against teams




                                                                                            from colleges with demographics similiar to those




                                                                                            of Clearwater Christian College.




                                                                                                    The athletic program is the most highly visible




                                                                                            program on campus.  The teams represent the



                                                                                             College and carry the huge responsibility of




                                                                                             displaying a good testimony and Christian




                                                                                             character.  Athletic Director Del Wubbena quotes




                                                                                             Proverbs 22:1  to demonstrate the importance of a




                                                                                            good testimony and reputation.  He encourages




                                                                                             excellence in all our athletes on and off the "field."




                                                                                             Coach Wubbena appreciates their hard work and




                                                                                             the sacrificing of their time.  "It's like a job;  athletes



                                                                                             put in between 20  to 30 hours a week between




                                                                                             practice and games," he says.




                                                                                                     One must not underestimate the dedication of




                                                                                             the coaching staff.  They look forward to




                                                                                             developing the new talent which arrived this year.




                                                                                             Their goals include developing team depth with




                                                                                             strong players in all positions, improving their



                                                                                             facilities, and competing nationally.
