s youngsters, time held little meaning for us. During
a long trip, how many of us constantly asked "Are
we there yet?" In our high school years we were
confronted with never having enough time for
everything we wanted to accomplish. However,
most of us still were not quite prepared for how
much time would be required of us in college.
Each year of college life is like a chapter in a novel,
flowing one into the other to form a complete
story. With each passing year, we mature and
become better prepared for what God has in store
for us. i
We start over our freshman year; once "king of
the hill" we are now "low man on the totem pole."
Through encouragement from our instructors and
new friends, we learn to adjust to college life.
Classes pick up and we are busy in our
sophomore year; however, we still find enough
time to make sure we don't miss out on any extra
curricular activities.
Reality sets in during our junior year as we begin
taking courses that are specific to our major. We
spend more energy and time on classwork than in
our previous two years.
The final year arrives and all of us develop
"senioritis" sometime during the year. Most of our
college career is behind us and the real world is
waiting. Classes are more interesting because we
can see their practicality. The senior year is
probably the best year of all which explains the
difficulty of leaving college and moving on.
