Ralstons d e b a te te am is one o f the strongest clubs/activities o ffe re d a t

school. A lot p e o p le a re in vo lve d in this a ctivity, kids from 9th-12th g ra d e can partici­
p a te in d e b a te . Last y e a r the te am g o t to tra v e l all the w a y to P hiladelphia where
th ey g o t to c o m p e te a t N ationals. This y e a r d e b a te a d d e d a w h o le n e w group of

freshm en w hich is g re a t because it helps the club to continue to g ro w . Senior Kurt
C ro n ic a n has c o m p e te d on d e b a te all fo ur years o f high school a n d has been on
va rsity since sophom ore year. H e is the only one on the te am to co m p e te in single
d e b a te . Kurt has m a n a g e d to p la ce th ird o r higher a t e v e ry co m p e titio n he was

c o m p e te in during the 2 0 1 3 /2 0 1 4 season. This y e a r has been v e ry strong fo r the
te am a n d th ey h a ve d o n e v e ry w e ll co m p e tin g overall. M s . S ta rk w h o is the coach
o f d e b a te re ce ive d her first d ia m o n d a w a rd w hich is v e ry prestigious a n d had taken

several years to ear. The season usually starts in N o v e m b e r a n d continues till the end
o f M a rc h . There a re m any things to g ain from co m p e tin g in d e b a te such as improve-,
m ent on public speaking a n d looking a t things in a d iffe re n t persp e ctive .
