For the last three years, Ralston's N ational Honor Society, Latino Leader­
ship Council, and various other volunteers have participated in donating
to, setting up, and running the O p e n Store. H eaded by Jenny Bruck, the
O p e n Store is like a big garage sale set up in the gym of the South
O m aha Y M C A , but the best part is that everything is FREE! This year
students donated clothes, toilettries, and anything else that could be
used in someone's elses home. Then volunteers stuffed everything into

buses and a van and spent hours organizing everything by size and
category, w ith only a short pizza break. Then the next day, more volun­
teers came to help customers and run the open store. It w as a outstand­
ing success and brought relief and help to many M e tro families in need.
