Outside the Classroom
Faculty Enjoys Various
Activities For
RELAXATION
T he faculty sets great examples on how to
enjoy life. Their testimonies show their love
for Christ and family as well as their
concern for their students. The faculty not
only teaches God’s Word in the classroom
but also preaches it in chapel. Many faculty
members counsel students spiritually as well as
academically.
Close family ties accompany their love for
Christ. Families are often seen together on
campus. During a faculty-staff work day, Dr.
David Moore’s daughter, Jessica, came with him to
help him work. Occasionally, one would see Mrs.
Mary Hayes’ mother or Dr. Walter Grubbs’
mother enjoying dinner with their families. When
asked about his family, Mr. Ron Billingsley said he
especially enjoyed Sunday mornings. “ It is the
time when I Fix breakfast.”
Faculty members’ time spent at school was
balanced by leisure activities at home. Dr. Jean
Macfarlane Finds that working in her garden,
doing hand crafts, or just doing odd jobs was very
relaxing. “ I even painted my garage door!” she

After class, Dr. Lexie Wiggins takes a
minute to check his faculty mailbox.
Since professors do this regularly,
students find this is a good way to
get in contact with them.
Dr. Chi-Chang Lo takes his daughter
on a cool night out to the ice
skating rink. Several faculty
members showed up at the opening
week activity and enjoyed it as
much as the students.
