The election of 2016 came down to Donald Trump (below,
right) and running mate M ike Pence vs. Hillary Clinton (below,
left) and running mate Tim Kaine. These candidates also had the
lowest approval rates for any primary candidate since 1984.
While some people felt passionately about one candidate over
the other, many simply viewed their choices as the lesser of tw o
evils. In the end, Clinton won the popular vote but Trump won
the Electoral College, ultimately gaining the presidency.
However, there were allegations that Russia hacked the election
to secure Trump the Presidency.

In late January President Trump (above) signed into effect a travel
ban aimed at several Muslim majority countries, causing immediate
backlash. Trump then fired Attorney General Sally Yates and
replaced her with Jeff Sessions when she refused to uphold the
ban, which she believed to be unconstitutional. In early M arch
Trump revised the bill, reducing the number of banned Muslim
nations to six, which it remains at time of publishing.
