Over the 2016 Boys Junior Varsity season,
the boys had their ups and downs with losses
and wins. The boys had determination and
teamwork with the coaching of Mr. Behrens.
The team suffered from cancellations of games
and tournaments at the end of their season
due to rain, which wanted to make them play
more.
Junior Jared Urbach says “ I decided to play
tennis to be with my friends for a longer tim e.”
This is actually what most players said when
asked this question. Urbach admits that he
wasn't very good and he didn't play much, but
he was glad to be a part of the team.
Urbach, when asked if he enjoyed his
1 revealed, “Yes. I enjoy the positiv
that they bring.” Practice is always fun when
you're with your teammates, with every sport
you grow as a team.
Sadly, Jared says he won't be playing next
year because it was not for him. It was a trial
run and he tried it for his friends. Tennis is not
for everyone, you have to be patient and work
well with your partner if you play doubles.
Tennis is mostly a single person sport
unless you play doubles. It is hard to work as a
team when you're trying to improve yourself as
one for the benefit of the team's overall stats.
The boys worked hard at practice and during
matches against tough opponents. Of course
the team had fun moments and times where
they didn't enjoy the loss of a match; but does
anyone?
The boys ended their season on many rain
>ut they pushed through and made up
matches. Whether win or lose, th
team who worked hard to pass in
ler better.
