Homecoming Week

         Monday, Sept. 25
         Dear Diary,
Today marked the first day of Homecoming Week, Grandma and 1 are so very excited. She helped me design my
"Inside Out Day" ensemble for today. A couple of kids stared at me in the hallway after third hour, but 1 didn’t really
mind. I was too busy looking forward to the sand volleyball game at 6:00.
         Tuesday, Sept. 26
         Dear Diary,
“Hat Day” has finally arrived! Grandma and I have spent the past three months preparing my hat for this glorious
day. My hat is in the shape of a large peanut as my hobby includes writing love letters to Mr. Peanut from the
Planter’s Peanut can. 1 made my way to school feeling as proud as a queen.
         Wednesday, Sept. 27
         Dear Diary,
1 am soaking my leg in a bucket of ice because it got a little toasted from the bonfire earlier. The bonfire took
place on the Orval Smith baseball field right alter the car parade. Grandma and I had our own float in the parade.
We were pirates, and we carried a cardboard ship. It seemed to be working out well until the kids who were
driving behind us began to “bump into us” and crushed our ship. Grandma said that when she lived in the old
country, a crushed ship meant there would be a good harvest.
         Thursday, Sept. 28
         Dear Diary,
Today was "Boxer” Day and the Mr. PHS contest, which was a dream come true. 1 got kicked out after I attempted
to crawl up on the stage to give the winner Joe Lane a congratulatory kiss.
         Friday, Sept. 29
         Dear Diary,
“Spirit Day" arrived today, and 1 was ready. 1 was decked out in red shorts, a white shirt, and blue-streaked legs.
Grandma said 1 was lucky that 1 had spilled blue paint on my legs while decorating for the car parade because 1 don’t
have any blue clothes, and she wasn’t about to buy me any right now.
