HONORING THE ACHIEVERS
Peak athletic consistency on the college level goes
beyond raw talent. The needed dedication, sacrifice and
skill requires a selfless attitude more often talked about
than acted out. Eileen Conaboy, Tina Costello and Chris
Turner have demonstrated this spirit of consistency
throughout their years at Allentown College.
Eileen Conaboy’s excellence in cross-country began
early in high school and continued to grow during her four
exceptional seasons here at Allentown. NAIA District 19
champion in 1986, Eileen also re-established her own
school record in the 3.1 mile run with a time of 19.49.
Eileen’s achievements have also earned her national rec
ognition. She placed 7th in the NCAA Mideast Regional
Qualifier, and placed in the top 20 in all of her NCAA
meets.
Tina Costello’s continued contribution to the women’s
basketball team has led to similar national attention. An
academic All-American after her junior year, Tina was
listed as a pre-season blue chip All-American for her
senior year. Tina, a four-year starter, is the College’s
career leader in steals and assists for both women and
men. Tina’s work habits and abilities enable her to be a
two sport star. A three year starter on the softball team,
Tina has been a force on the Allentown College sports
scene.
Chris Turner’s work ethics and dedication have placed
him at the focal point of the soccer team’s recent surge
into prominence. Chris is the leading goal scorer in Allen
town history, and last season set a season record for goals
with twenty. Chris also sacrificed his time this past year to
coach an Under-19 soccer club team, where he guided his
team to a league championship victory.
The leadership and selfless dedication to the Allentown
College community provided by Chris, Tina and Eileen
will he missed as these three seniors move on to eventual
future success.
