Early on the Saturday morning of April 19th, prom decorating
                                                                began at the Stockyards Ballroom on 27th and  L  Streets. Junior
                                                                and senior parents and students covered the entire ceiling of the
                                                                ballroom with balloons of silver, pale blue and royal blue.  A
                                                                crepe paper arch with balloon clusters welcomed prom goers.
                                                                    The dance started at 8 o'clock and lasted until midnight.  For
                                                                most girls prom began at about noon.  Flowers had  to be picked
                                                                up, hair appointments had to be kept, nails had to be done,
                                                                makeup and dressing time were all required to be ready for the
                                                                photo shoots with friends and family.
                                                                   The night may have started out rushed for some, but the dance
                                                                proved to be a blast.  Over 200 tickets were sold for prom and
                                                                over 300 were sold for post prom.  "Prom was really cool!"  junior
                                                                Ryan Overfield said.  His favorite part of Prom was the decora­
                                                                tions.
                                                                   Post Prom was a huge success too.  It started at 12:30 a.m. and
                                                                lasted until four.  Parents were there to help run booths, serve
                                                                food and give out prizes.  There was lots of free food and tons of
                                                                activities.  Students got chances to get into the boxing ring and
                                                                duke it out with their teachers.  They also could  have tried their
                                                                luck at the casino tables or sang Karaoke.
