On paper, it looked like this year
would be a rebuilding year for the
varsity wrestling team. There were
no returning state champions and
only nine returning letter winners.
But the team defeated the odds with
a lot of hard work and determina­
tion. Although the season ended
with a 3-3 record, they were very suc­
cessful at tournaments. They won
the Ram Invitational and took sec­
ond at both the Roncalli Invitational
and Districts. Twelve wrestlers
ended up going to State, and junior
