Living in
the days of immediacy,
we have everything from instant cof
fee to instant messaging. As a result, impatience
plays an important factor in each of our lives. We
complain when it takes more than ten seconds for a web
page to load or more than sixty seconds for a stoplight to turn
green. As a result of our instant society, we often sacrifice what is
important for what is faster. We rush through our daily lives without
pausing to take in our surroundings or notice the people around us. We
are so concerned with moving forward we forget to see what is beside
us. We sacrifice our relationships with others because they take up too
much of our time. We even exhibit impatience in our relationship with
God. We grow frustrated if He does not answer our prayer the minute
we pray it. This philosophy goes against Scripture. Psalm 27:14 ad
monishes believers to "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
God does not guarantee instant answers to our prayers, in
stead He tells us to wait on Him. Just wait. Don't worry
about the problem or try to fix it yourself, wait
on God's timing. Slow down. Breathe.
Pray AND JUST WAIT.
