from/the
heart
At the beginning of the semester, we
feel ready to meet new situations and
challenges with enthusiasm and energy,
but by midterm, we tend to lose some
of our excitement. Organizations pro
vide outlets for the pressures of school
and help us to step away from every
day demands and focus on building
friends, cultivating talents, and serving
the community. Greeks give us a break
from our structured schedules to enjoy
time singing, learning about God's
Word, and sharing fellowship. Basi
cally, organizations provide “breathers”
from our regular responsibilities and
often challenge us to take our focus off
ourselves and minister to others.
Colossians 3:23-24 states, “And what
soever ye do, do it heartily, as to the
Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that
of the Lord ye shall receive the reward
of the inheritance: for ye serve the
Lord.” By refreshing our routine, or
ganizations help remind us to do even
the little everyday things with heart.
