GLORY
by Mrs. Pat Youstra Front Row: Kate Vacca-Secretary, Rebekah Germano-
Remember the saying, “Behind every good man Treasurer. Back Row: Greg Routhier-President, Tom Starnes-
Song Leader. (Not Pictured: April Lewis-Vice-President)
there is an outstanding woman”? Let’s change that
a bit. I firmly believe that “Behind every successful
employer, there is an outstanding office profes
sional.” The titles have changed from secretary, to
executive assistant, to administrative assistant, and
now to “office professional.” The title is not what
is important.
While working in the White House, my
“boss” once said, “This is my assistant; she does all
the work while I get all the credit.” In the Admin
istrative Office Management and Secretarial Sci
ence majors, we teach one objective. Our students
learn the value of being ethical, of working hard, Front Row: Shawna Penny-Secretary, Chaplain-Joel
and of striving for excellence in their work perfor Swearingen. (Not Pictured: Aaron Dahl-President, Laura
Groom-Vice-President, Sarah Gettle-Treasurer, Song
mance. This effort comes from above, “Not that Leader-James Kneblik)
we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything
as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God.”
(II Corinthians 3:5)
In the business world, we represent our Lord.
Our talents come from Him, and nothing but our
best will do. “Now thanks be unto God, who al
ways causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh
manifest the savor of His knowledge by us in every
place.” (II Cor. 2:14) Ultimately, the boss will be
successful, and God will get the glory.
