took time from their summers to
minister on foreign fields, work­
ing in local churches, teaching
English, and translating.
Athough some traveled to for­
eign countries, others like Mel­
issa Rettinhouse found mission
opportunities in their own back­
yards. She worked in the
“PeeWee Pirates’1 ministry at her
church in Grant Haven, Michi­
gan and led the singing time.
Sharing the love of Christ chal­
lenged students in their own
Christian walks as they served as
Rachel Madoushek helps a

cation Bible School pro­
gram. She said, "Most of
the kids did not know any­
thing about the Lord. Al­
though none of them got
saved, I had the privilege to
teach the kids foundational
knowledge about God.”

Mitch Kuhn, who went to
New York for ten days with his
youth group, helped run teen ral­
lies during the evenings. He said,
“The highlight of the trip for me
was on the last night of activities.
We saw two teenagers come to
know the Lord as Savior. To see
their excitement and joy from
knowing Christ was a great re­
fresher in my own spiritual walk.”
On a larger scale than indi­
vidual mission work, the men’s
soccer team traveled to Brazil to
minister to the people at the vari­
ous ministries they visited. Over

their ten day visit, the team’s pri­
mary purpose was to clear a plot
of land and start building a
church. Luke Perrie, a senior
midfielder, said, “One thing that
the Lord taught me is that there
are millions of people around the
world who are more financially
destitute than we are here in
America, yet they love God with
a simple faith and gratitude.
Those people have nothing com­
pared to us, yet their time is more
focused on God and what He
does in people’s lives. Having
less of the world and more of
God can never be a bad thing!”
