Jthe swimmer makes her
moves look easy," said senior
Lori Cline when asked about her
talent in water ballet, (also
known as syncronized
swimming). Cline first got
involved in the sport when she
was seven years old and went to
watch her older sister practice.
Cline practiced for two hours
three times a week in the
summer and before a meet she
practiced every day for two
hours. In the meets, each
swimmer was judged on a scale
of one to ten.
Cline said the highlight of her
swimming experiences came
when she went to the Junior
Olympics in Santa Clara,
California, and met Olympic
backstroker John Nabors.
Not only was Cline very
skilled in syncronized swimming,
but she was also involved in the
Ralston swim team, where she
held the pool and school
records in the 100-yard
butterfly.
Executing her own creation, a hybrid, Cline
syncronize swims; Cline begins a back walk
over; Cline rises to the surface in a vertical.
