In order to combat homesickness and the JS jm E &
undeniable stress in new and returning stu- , ??.;r
dents, the Office for Student Affairs orga- '
nized several activities which included
bowling, a boat cruise, ice skating, and
miniature golf. Not only were these acti
vities relaxing, but they were also a great
opportunity for students to get acquainted.
Transfer student Dwaine Osborne summed
up his feelings by saying, "O-o-o, we're
having too much fun!"
"Marooned in Paradise" was the theme
of the annual college picnic. The highlight
was the skit in which the marooned de
cided to start a college on the island. They
competed for the honor of being named
"Student of the Week!' The Howell's, Dr.

and Mrs. Lexie Wiggins, tried to bribe the
Professor, Dr. David Moore, with money.
The Skipper, Mr. Ron Billingsley, thought
it would look bad if the guy in charge was not the win
ner. Mary Anne, Miss Beth Darby, tempted the profes
sor with homemade pies. The ravishing Ginger, Miss
Kris DeWitt, tried to coax him with a candlelight din
ner. However, the honorable professor withstood their
tests and was not swayed.
