Joe Student found tHat Hi$
life changed considerably
when he left home, and He
embarked upon the journey through
college. When he was at home, he
depended on Mom or Dad for every
thing, from toothpaste to pencils.
Soon after he arrived at college how
ever, Joe quickly found that he would
have to learn to be self-sufficient, or
he would not survive. One adjust
ment was learning to iron and match
his clothes. At home, Joe’s mother
ironed and laid out matching clothes
for him every morning. Now when
Joe peers into the dark recesses of his
closet, he must constantly fret whether
the clothes that he has chosen match.
Are they wrinkled in a "hip" sort of
way, or will he be scorned for looking
unkempt? These are new and terrify
ing situations that face poor Joe. He
does not deal well with fashion. He
is, after all, a guy!

grimaces at the bitter aftertaste.
Since mom was not here to
take care of them, students
have had to learn to fend for
themselves, especially when
they are sick.
