To the Class of 1968:
A Chinese proverb tells us that a journey of a thousand
miles begins with but a single step. You have taken that
step. Not one among you has any idea of the enormity of
the challenges that await you. No one has. Not one
among you is fully prepared to face them. No one is.
We have seen the seasons come and go. We have walked
along the road that lies before you. We know that you
will walk your thousand miles with truth, with courage,
and with a twinkle in your eye.
