                                                                                                    Marvin L. Demp

              Dear Graduates,
We live in a world of conflict and strife. Witness the
war raging on in Vietnam, while here at home the racial
situation erupts into violence and continues to fester
from long ignored and forgotten sores.
We cannot ignore these social ills. It is imperative that
we recognize them and attempt to do something positive
to eradicate them and to exalt the rights and dignity of
each individual. We realize that each individual must be
allowed to feel free to choose his vocation and to have
control of his destiny, but must share the concern of
              others.
It is our task, therefore, to take full cognizance of our
abilities, to admit our shortcomings, and to strengthen
our spiritual and moral commitments. Equipped with the
knowledge, attitudes, and experience acquired during
these past twelve years of formal education, we can
hopefully envision more realistic and rational personal
and educational decisions. In doing so, we can build a
better and richer life for everyone.
