Completion of the
final test as the Class
of 1997 graduates
The Class of 1997 breathes a
sigh of relief as they cross the
stage as graduates of RHS.
May 25 was a cold and dreary day
outside, but inside the walls of Ralston High
School’s gymnasium it was filled with
warmth and happiness of those 187 members
of the Class of 1997. The day they had waited
and wished for was finally upon
them...graduation day. Ahh yes...the time
had come for those seniors to say good-bye
to their high school lives and friends. For
most of the 187 it was a time to rejoice, but
for others it was a time to cry. Why we don’t
know; they just cried.
At 1:30 the seniors were lined up and
decked out in the usual Colum
bia blue and red caps and gowns.
It seemed like an eternity be
fore Dr. Meyers announced the
presentation of the Class of
1977...oops... 1997.
The ceremony was quite
memorable. Honor student
Magy Fox gave the welcome
speech. Honor student Jaclyn
Kohles gave her thoughts at
commencement. Senior class
representative Joe Hansler also
spoke at the ceremony. Senator
Bob Kerrey also spoke at com
mencement.
For entertainment purposes James
Ballarin and Kimberly Amandus sang the
class song, “A Little Help From My Friends”
by the Beatles.
Along with their diplomas, each gradu Clockwise: Class vice

diplomas the graduates were announced school board president
alumni and hurled their caps into the air and Linda Richards. James

then walked out of Ralston High School Amandus get by with a little
