It's the end of the
world as we know it
The last couple of weeks
are always the best.
The 1996-97 school year was an
eventful year filled with one last times
for the seniors. The last homecoming
week, the last homecoming dance, the
last Criss Cross, the last basketball game,
the last baseball game and the last prom.
But it was also a year for firsts, the first
senior banquet, ordering graduation an
nouncements, senior honors night, the
first senior barbecue and, of course,
graduation.
May 18 the senior class banquet
was held at the Regency Best Western.
Mr. Somm ers, the faculty guest speaker,
gave an inspiring speech that was loved
by all. Natalya Shannon was the class
speaker. The meal was your choice of
steamed vegetables, chicken
cordon blue (yum yum),
shrimp or beef. It was quite
the meal.
The choir m em bers
sang “We Must Say Good
bye” which brought a tear to
some eyes. Most likely to
awards were announced.
The senior video was
also shown; it was a well put
together project. To end the
evening, Mindy Siedschlag
sang “I Will Remember You,”
by Sarah McLachlan.
The Friday after the last
day for seniors was graduation practice.
Seniors only got to sleep in a little while,
because they had to be at school at 10:30
to find their graduation seats. After prac
