First SMC meeting of the year tackles the new ELD rule

On January 21, the Arkansas
Trucking Association’s Safety
Management Council hosted FMCSA’s FMCSA’s division
Kevin Breedlove, division administrator, adminsitrator kevin

event was held at the Embassy Suites in
Little Rock, Ark., with 67 attendees rep-
resenting 38 companies.
The panel, which included Leslie
Stout (Maverick Transportation), Mike
Brust (Southern Refrigerated Transport)
and Malea Still (CalArk International)
answered questions about successes
and challenges while transitioning to
an electronic logging environment and
steps each company takes to go beyond
FMCSA rules and foster a safety-focused
