An artist’s rendering from a 1957 issue of TAB, Arkansas Bus and Truck
Association’s monthly publication, shows what trucks were expected to look
like in 1967. The caption reads:
TRUCK OR THE FUTURE—Ten years from now—in 1967—the truck-trailer
moving over our new interstate expressways and super-highways may look
much like this artist’s sketch. Roy Fruehauf, President, Fruehauf Trailer
Company told the Central Motor Freight Association’s annual luncheon at the
Conrad Hilton Hotel on September 18. This 1967 model has many unusuals—
including TV cameras, sliding panel doors, radio sending and receiving sat,
inter-truck-trailer phone, airplane like controls.
