“ I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” – Philippians 4 : 13
Keeping this thought in mind and with confidence in our Lord and Saviour, I pen this message for the school magazine.
As we impart education to our students, to match the advancement in technology and globalization, we march them
ahead with the ethos and values of the Somerville Schools.
May this magazine, unfold their creativity and give life to their thoughts and imaginations. Mark Twain rightly said,
“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do, than by the ones you did do. So
throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream and
discover”.
In this, both teachers and parents play a vital role. Teachers have an important professional perspective, while parents
have a passionate parental perspective. Both have to listen to each other. When we love and believe in something, from
the bottom of our soul, we feel strong with a certainty that nothing can conquer our faith. This strange force makes us
take the right decisions at the right time, and surprises us at our own capacity, when we fulfill our objectives. May we
never lose our enthusiasm at any moment, it is our greatest strength. We cannot let it slip through our fingers, if we are
confronted with some small and necessary defeat.
While I write this message, students are confined to their homes and parents are grappling at keeping their children
productive at home. With schools closed for an extended duration, came the reality of online teaching, no longer a
buzzword or a fancy edtech term. The readiness of the school for this is critical and this school has done a marvellous job
in this journey. My heartiest congratulations!
All my best wishes to the Principal, Staff and students for a great and truly blessed year ahead.
