TEACHER’S DAY ASSEMBLY
Wherever you find something extraordinary, you will find the finger print of a great teacher.
On the occasion of the birthday of the second President of India, philosopher, scholar and teacher,
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan , Teacher’s Day was celebrated with immense enthusiasm in our
school. The programme started with the reading from the Holy Bible and a word of prayer by the
Head Boy Rishabh Banerjee. Thereafter, bouquets were handed over as a gesture of love and
gratitude to the Principal Dr. Mary Thomas, Vice Principal Ms. Monisha Claudius and Head Mistress
Mrs. Shefali Egbert.
A teacher’s task is the most crucial in the field of education. Whatever strategy may be laid down,
in the ultimate analysis, these have to be interpreted and implemented by the teachers as much
through their personal example as through the teaching-learning process. Acknowledging this fact ,
Class XII paid their tribute and exhibited their love for their teachers through stellar performances
enthralling one and all. The classroom enactment by the students of class XII conveyed the vital
message that not only it is the good teachers who embrace deep concern and respect for their
students but students should bear a sense of responsibility too. Next in the row was a charismatic
medley of English and Hindi songs that left everyone spell bound while the girls danced with poise
on a foot tapping number .The assembly culminated with Principal Ma’am’s address wherein she
appreciated the efforts of the students and emphasised the need for the students to respect their
teachers.
It has been rightly said, ‘Teachers can change lives with the right mix of chalk and challenges’.
