后，他慢慢沿着小径走，或者应该说是沿着小径旁的草地边缘走，还

一边全神贯注地看着地面。他停下来两次，有一次，我看到他露出微
笑，还听到他发出一声满意的感叹。湿润的黏土地面上有很多脚印，

但是，由于警察在上面走来走去，我看不出来，我的同伴怎样能从这
上面看出任何端倪。然而，我有特殊的证据证明他对事物拥有敏锐的

At the door of the house we were met by a tall, white-

faced, flaxen-haired man, with a notebook in his hand, who
rushed forward and wrung my companion's hand with
effusion. "It is indeed kind of you to come," he said, "I have
had everything left untouched."

"I have had so much to do inside the house," the
detective said evasively. "My colleague, Mr. Lestrade, is
here. I had relied upon him to look after this."
