little more open. Wispy grasses, several
forced carries across the marshes, and
some lakes also help define the course.
A member of Audubon International,
the course presents golf the way nature
intended. An interesting side note: the
Palace Casino provides the only smoke-
free casino on the coast.

Grand Bear Golf Course is associated         Grand Bear

and Casino in Biloxi. Beautiful and
challenging, the layout traverses through
natural cypress wetlands and towering
pines, with packed pine needle rough,
championship greens, and deep bunkers
set over 650 acres of rolling land in the
piney woods of the De Soto National
Forest. The fairways are pretty forgiving
and the greens have some interesting
swales. On the back nine, the Big Biloxi
River skirts several of the holes. The 14th
green has a pond to the left where several
small alligators lie around, but don’t
worry. They lay about 15 feet below the
green.
