Casa de Campo ~ Tropical Playground
by Wes Bolyard
Discover fun and relaxation just a short hop from Miami, Florida, on the southern
shores of the Dominican Republic where the 7,000-acre Casa de Campo Resort
& Villas await your arrival. The mild winds gently blowing over the beautiful
Caribbean Sea offer a refreshing breeze and clean air for your enjoyment.
This truly complete resort offers almost any amenity you can imagine with golf
courses; equestrian center; polo; tennis center with 13 courts; 245-acre shooting
center for trap, skeet, and sporting clays; water sports; beach; physical therapy;
and spa. (Request “magic hands” Kary but try to stay to stay awake to get the full
enjoyment of the massage.)
The golf program at Casa de Campo was recently named the Caribbean’s Best Golf
Resort 2016 at the 3rd annual World Golf Awards. With a total of three trophies, the
resort rose above other highly acclaimed hotel brands and golf courses throughout
the Dominican Republic. Their honors include Caribbeanʼs Best Golf Hotel 2016,
Dominican Republic’s Best Golf Hotel 2016, and Dominican Republic’s Best Golf
Course 2016–Teeth of the Dog. Golfweek’s Ultimate Guide to Golf Course Living
and Great Escapes for 2017 includes two of Casa de Campo’s courses in their top 50
courses in the Caribbean, Teeth of the Dog at number 4 and Dye Fore at number
28. Golf Digest ranks Teeth of the Dog number 56 in The World’s 100 Greatest Golf
Courses.
