Pharmacological management

Hold antihypertensive drug

Midodrine

 Alpha-adrenergic agonist

 Increase peripheral arterial resistance, venous

return, cardiac output

 Dose: 10 mg oral 30-60 min before HD

 Dialyable: second dose may be given in the

middle of session

 Avoid in patient with active MI and HF

 No additive effect to cool dialysate
