Management of Air embolism

 Stop blood pump immediately

 Clamping venous line and disconnecting the circuit

 Left lateral recumbent (LLR) position (supine position)

 Oxygen with FiO 100% by either mask or endotracheal tube

 Hyperbaric oxygen (prevents cerebral edema)

 Use of Luer-lock syringes for blood draw from catheters/

removed with a needle percutaneously

 Cardio respiratory support
