ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
AND ENGAGEMENT
The second major public and campus engagement series also started in 2017.
The Chancellor’s Speaker Series brought entrepreneur/author/TV personality
DAYMOND JOHN (above) to North Carolina A&T as its first guest for a
presentation. Prior to John’s talk, the three finalists in a campus-wide student
entrepreneur competition pitched their business ideas to John, A&T trustee
and business leader Janice Bryant Howroyd and Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr.
Howroyd, who in 2017 was named to Forbes “America’s Richest Self-Made Women”
list, invested $1,000 in each of the finalists’ businesses following the competition.
